Technical area
The present invention relates to the field of the collection of waste disposed in containers of the mobile container type with pivoting lid, also called trash on wheels. The invention relates particularly to a device for holding the container.
The present invention is for ecological purposes; its main objective is to avoid the spread of waste on public roads due to the overturning of containers, in order to contribute to respect for the environment.
State of the art
Waste collection is carried out by collection companies using specially adapted trucks, more commonly known as garbage trucks.
Today, sorting has been implemented in most municipalities to facilitate recycling of waste; household waste is thus separated from glass and cardboard packaging, plastic bottles and other recyclable waste, this various waste being placed in appropriate separate containers in order to be picked up by garbage trucks. Household waste is generally placed in plastic bags, which are themselves closed and placed in a suitable first container. Glass bottles and jars are placed as they are, in bulk, in a second suitable container. Likewise, cardboard packaging, plastic bottles and other recyclable waste are disposed of as such, in bulk, in a third appropriate container.
The waste containers are handled by automated systems arranged on the garbage trucks in order to avoid the urban cleaning agents, more commonly called refuse collectors, from carrying heavy loads. These waste containers have a gripping bar and two or four wheels - depending on their width - so that they can be moved easily without having to be carried, by both users and garbage collectors. A cover further closes the upper side of said container.
Two-wheeled waste containers are generally sized for individual use while four-wheeled containers are generally sized for collective use. In the case of two-wheeled waste containers, these extend more or
BE2019 / 5374 less like a parallelepiped tower whose height is much greater than the sides of the base.
On collection days or the day before, waste containers are positioned along the sidewalks to be picked up by garbage trucks. When the wind is blowing, it is common for two-wheeled waste containers to tip over under the force of the wind and the lids of these containers open, particularly when these containers are lightly loaded and / or when it is cardboard packaging, plastic bottles and other recyclable waste, lighter than household waste or glass products. Thus, it is common to find cardboard packaging, plastic bottles and other recyclable waste on the public road, which should be collected to avoid harming the environment.
Summary of the invention
The present invention aims to overcome this drawback by implementing a device for holding a mobile waste container.
According to the invention, the holding device comprises a front side, a rear side, a holding piece having a shape configured to engage on a part of the container when it is engaged by said front side.
In addition, the holding device comprises a system for moving the holding part from a high position where the holding part is engaged on said part of the container towards a low position where the holding part is released from said part of the container. container so as to release the container. In addition, the holding device comprises a return system configured to force the return of said holding piece towards said high position.
According to the invention, the holding device comprises actuating means configured to actuate the movement system and move the holding part from the high position to the low position. According to one embodiment, these actuating means comprise a pusher for actuating the holding device by pressing with a hand or the fist on said pusher. Other means of actuating the movement system can however be envisaged, depending on the configuration of the holding device. Indeed, in replacement of the pusher, one could for example provide a pedal and a transmission mechanism arranged between the pedal and the movement system, in order to allow actuation with a foot rather than a hand.

According to one embodiment, the actuating means comprise a pusher having a square shape with a horizontal part oriented forwardly above the holding part and a vertical part extending downward from the horizontal part, said vertical part being disposed at the rear of the holding part and subject to said holding part. This implementation facilitates access to the pusher for controlling the movement system, the user or the scavenger can easily press with a hand or fist on the pusher located at a level higher than the container and engage the container on the holding part or, conversely, release it from it by manipulating said container with the other hand.
Preferably, the pusher has a C shape incorporating said square shape, with an upper horizontal part oriented towards the front and disposed above the holding part, a lower horizontal part oriented forward and arranged in- below the holding part and a vertical part extending between said upper and lower horizontal parts, said lower horizontal part being secured to said holding part.
According to one embodiment of the holding device, the displacement system comprises a piston mounted in vertical translation for sliding the holding piece from the high position to the low position and vice versa and the return system comprises a spring for returning the piston to the position high.
According to one embodiment of the holding device, the holding part has a square shape with a horizontal part oriented towards the rear and a vertical part extending upwards from the horizontal part.
According to the invention, the holding device comprises on its rear side a plate for its attachment to a support which can be, for example, a wall or a post.
According to one embodiment, the holding device comprises a support post. Thus, the device can be fixed on the ground or sealed in it, at the edge of the sidewalk, when no wall is positioned near said sidewalk. Preferably, the support post is provided with a sole for its attachment to hard ground, for example tarmac.
According to one embodiment of the holding device, the displacement system comprises a plate participating in the guiding in vertical translation of the holding part. Preferably, the plate also provides guidance in vertical translation of the pusher, in the presence of the latter.

According to the invention, the holding device can be used for immobilizing a mobile waste container provided with at least one gripping bar and a pivoting cover, the holding part engaging on said at least a gripping bar while leaving the opening of the lid free. This allows the persons of the household to be able to open the lid and throw into the waste container, while permanently maintaining the said container, that is to say without necessitating the disengagement of the container from the holding device. This permanently prevents the container from overturning during strong winds.
According to the invention, the holding device can also be used for immobilizing a mobile waste container provided with a pivoting cover and a rim, the holding part engaging on the rim of the container and the horizontal part of the pusher blocking the opening of the cover. Thus, the opening of the cover is permanently prevented during strong winds, so as to prevent light waste from flying away under the force of the wind due to said opening of the cover. This implementation however requires releasing the container from the device to open the lid each time the user wishes to throw waste into said container.

In the following description, the same references are used to describe the same characteristics or their equivalents, according to the various alternative embodiments of the holding device.
In the following description, the mobile waste container is called "container".

In Figures 1 and 2, the holding device 1 comprises a rear side 1a and a front side 1b. The rear side 1a is intended to be presented facing a support and the front side 1b is intended to be presented facing a container 2, illustrated in Figures 3 and 4, in order to maintain it.
In FIGS. 1 and 2, the holding device 1 comprises a plate 3 provided with a light 4. The plate 3 extends longitudinally and is extended by a housing 5. The holding device 1 extends longitudinally along an axis X which is positioned vertically in practice, that is to say when said holding device 1 is fixed on a support, the end 5a of the housing 5 being positioned downwards. The light 4 extends in the longitudinal direction on the plate 3, parallel to this axis X.
In FIGS. 1 and 2, the holding device 1 comprises a piston 6 which is slidably mounted on two guide plates 7, 8 arranged inside the housing 5, so as to translate said piston 6 along the axis X A flange 9 is fixed on the piston 6 and positioned between the two guide plates 7, 8. A spring 10 (illustrated in dotted lines in FIG. 2) is engaged on the piston 6 and is placed between the flange 9 and the plate guide 7 lower, which forces the piston 6 to return to a high position when said spring 10 is compressed.
In FIGS. 1 and 2, the holding device 1 comprises a holding piece 11 which comprises a square shape with a first part 12 positioned horizontally when said holding device 1 is installed, said first part 12 extending towards the side rear 1a, and with a second part 13 positioned vertically when said holding device 1 is installed, said second part 13 extending upwards relative to the first part 12. This first part 12 is fixed to a head 14 of the piston 6. Thus, the translation of the piston 6 along the axis X concomitantly allows the translation of the holding part 11 in the direction of said axis X. The rear end 12a of the first part 12 is attached to the front face 3a of the plate 3.
In FIGS. 1 and 2, the holding device 1 comprises a pusher 15 which has three parts 16, 17, 18 forming a C. The first part 16 is positioned horizontally when said holding device 1 is installed, said first part 16 s extending towards the front side 1b, above the holding part 11. The second part 17 is positioned vertically when said holding device 1 is installed, said second part 17 extending downwards and at right angles to the first part 16. This second part 17 of the pusher is housed in the plate 3, which will allow the fixing of a plate 26 (illustrated in dashed lines in FIG. 1) with the rear face 3b of said plate 3. The part three 18
BE2019 / 5374 is positioned horizontally when said holding device 1 is installed, said third part 18 extending towards the front side 1b from the lower end 17a of the second part 17. This third part 18 passes through the light 4 to be guided by it and it is positioned under the first part 12 of the holding part 11; it is also fixed to the head 14 of the piston 6.
According to this holding device 1 illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2, a push on the first part 16 of the pusher 15 in the direction of the arrow 19 makes it possible to translate along the axis X, in the direction of said arrow 19, the pusher 15 , the holding part 11 and the piston 6 and, concomitantly, of compressing the spring 10. The holding part 11 thus moves into a low position when the pusher 15 is actuated. The release of the pusher 15 allows the spring 10 - in the compressed state - to relax to ensure the return of the pusher 15, of the holding part 11 and of the piston 6, which translate in the direction opposite to said arrow 19. The holding part 11 thus moves to a high position when the pusher 15 is released.
As illustrated with reference to FIGS. 3 and 4, a container 2 comprises a container 20 provided on its rear side 20a with rollers 21, the container 20 being closed by a pivoting cover 22 which can tilt from a closed position (shown in Figures 3 and 4) in an open position (shown in dashed lines in Figure 4), and vice versa. A grasping bar 23 is arranged on the rear side 20a of the container 20, this grasping bar 23 being positioned parallel to the rear edge 22a of said cover 22, so as to maintain a space 24 allowing said bar to be grasped with one hand. gripping 23 for handling the container 2. On the container 2 illustrated in FIG. 4, the container 20 comprises in the upper part a flange 25 oriented downwards.
The use of the holding device 1 can be done in two different ways depending on the design of the container 2.
Whatever the design of the container 2, two variants of which appear in said FIGS. 3 and 4, the holding device 1 can ensure the immobilization of said container 2 by engaging the gripping bar 23 on the holding piece 11. In this case, the gripping bar 23 is positioned between the plate 3 and the second part 13 of the holding piece 11, said second part 13 being positioned in the space 24, between said gripping bar 23 and the rear edge 22a of the cover 22. The user therefore presents the container 2 with the gripping bar 23 facing the holding device 1, then he actuates the pusher 15 by pushing down on the first part 16 of said pusher 15, which lowers the holding part 11
BE2019 / 5374 in a low position allowing the gripping bar 23 of the container 2 to be placed against the plate 3. The user then releases the pusher 15, the spring 10 ensuring the return of the holding part 11 to a high position in which the gripping bar 23 is blocked between the plate 3 and the second part 13 of the holding piece 11. According to this use, the cover 22 can still be opened to allow the introduction of waste into the container 2, although said container 2 cannot be overturned thanks to the immobilization ensured by said holding device 1. The disengagement of the container 2 from the holding device 1 is carried out identically by acting on the pusher 15, so as to release the gripping bar 23 vis-à-vis the holding part 11, which then allows the container 2 to be moved by rolling it up and pulling it forwards.
For the containers 2 provided with a rim 25, like that of FIG. 4, these can be presented in the opposite direction to the previous one, that is to say by presenting the front side 20b of the container 20 so as to engage the holding part 11 on the rim 25 of the container 2. The engagement of the holding part 11 on the rim 25 is effected by acting on the pusher 15, as previously. When the second part 13 of the retaining part 11 is housed in the rim 25 of the container 2, the first part 16 of the pusher 15 is positioned above the front edge 22b of the cover 22 and thus plays a lock function blocking the pivoting of said cover 22, which prevents it from being opened unexpectedly during strong winds.
The holding device 1 illustrated in FIG. 1 and 2 is fixed on a support, with the axis X oriented vertically and the end 5a of the housing 5 positioned at the bottom. In FIG. 5, which takes up all the characteristics described above with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, the holding device 1 comprises a plate 26 fixed to the rear face 3b of the plate 3. In FIG. 5, the plate 26 is curved and fixed to a support post 27 provided at its lower end 27a with a sole 28 for fixing to a ground or a sidewalk. However, provision could be made to seal the lower end 27a of the support post 27, directly in the ground.
In a variant, the plate 26 can be flat instead of being curved, as illustrated in dashed lines in FIG. 1, for its attachment to a wall wall (not shown) rather than on the support post 27.
Other variants are possible within the scope of the invention. By way of example, when the holding device 1 comprises a support post 27, it is possible to provide, as a replacement for the pusher 15, a pedal (not shown) arranged at the lower end 27a of the support post 27 and a mechanism d actuation (not illustrated) arranged inside the
